Our Production and Ordering Process

1. Choose & order your personal piece of jewelry

From fingerprint necklaces to unique keepsakes for little star children, we have a wide selection of different designs, so there’s something for everyone. Simply choose your favorite piece of jewelry and customize it to your wishes with our configurator. You can conveniently pay online with a payment provider.

2. Start of internal production

Using special laser technology and software programs, the individual engravings are carried out in detail as uploaded by you in the configurator, polished after completion, and packed in a jewelry box if desired.

3. Ready for shipping

Once your piece of jewelry is packaged, it will be shipped safely and padded via a well-known and reliable shipping service provider.
Should customs fees arise due to the use of different shipping service providers, please contact us.

Can I take impressions without a special impression kit?

  • Quite simply: we prefer an ink pad on white paper, as it is clearly visible and can therefore be processed best.
  • To achieve a perfect result, the lines should be as fine as possible and clearly visible.
  • If the impression is smudged, too dark, or the lines are faint, our experienced design team can still save a lot from the impression; ideally, we also have several impressions to choose from.

 

How do I take an impression?

  • To do this, gently press your finger onto the ink pad and then gently onto a white sheet of paper.

  • Repeat this process several times, also with your other fingers, so that you have a selection of fingerprints. We will then choose the best print for the laser template.
  • If you don’t have an ink pad, you can also upload another print digitally.

Can Plasticine or wax impressions be used?

  • Our experienced design team is very confident and assures you that we can create a template from almost any impression and use it for engraving.
  • If you are still unsure about the quality of the impressions, please feel free to contact us before placing an order to have the impression checked without obligation.

How long is the delivery time for my jewelry?

The processing and delivery time is 7-14 days, depending on the shipping provider.

What quality does the impression need to have?

Your impression doesn’t have to be perfect; our experienced design team can create a template for engraving from almost any impression. We ask for your understanding that an additional charge of €9.99 will be applied if the reconstruction of an impression requires more time.

We are happy to check your imprint before you complete an order, without obligation and free of charge.

 

Do I have to send you my original print?

No. You never have to send us original prints. We only need a photo of the print. This can even be just a photo taken with your phone, it just needs to be well-lit so that the lines are clearly visible; a scan of your print is not absolutely necessary. All common photo formats, .jpg etc., are suitable.

 

Are the prints stored with you?

All processed prints remain stored under your order number in our secure archive. This allows you to easily reorder jewelry at any time. Finished jewelry pieces are photographed for quality assurance before shipping, and the images may be used anonymously for advertising purposes.

I’m not sure which item I want, can I also have a personal consultation?

Personal customer contact is a top priority at Zeichen der Erinnerung. We are always there for your questions and are happy to advise you in detail by email with an engraving preview, so that you can better imagine the final piece of jewelry.

 

Do you also ship your jewelry outside of Germany?

Yes. We ship:

  • Throughout Europe
  • Island shipping within the EU for an additional charge.
  • Switzerland upon request
  • Other continents upon request.

What alloys do your pieces of jewelry have?

All chains and pendants are made of 925 sterling silver, unless explicitly stated in the text or product details. These can be 18kt or 24kt gold-plated in yellow gold, rose gold, or with a rhodium coating upon request.

There is also the possibility to order individual pieces of jewelry in 24kt real gold in the online shop, depending on the item.

The clasps are usually made of stainless steel.

 

Are the prints only printed on, or are they deeply engraved?

Each individual print is engraved 0.03mm into the surface of the pendants, so that it is also “tangible”. The prints are NOT printed on, so that edges and shapes of the print can also be perceived depending on the light incidence.

 

I have a special pendant request, do you also make custom orders?

We love custom orders and always try to fulfill all our customers’ wishes.
In our menu, you will find a category “Personalized with engraving” where you can find jewelry that you can design according to your wishes.

 

How do I care for my piece of jewelry?

Care for your piece of jewelry carefully, taking into account our care instructions, which you can find on the corresponding product page.

I only have a footprint of my star child from the hospital, is that okay?

Often, this is the only print made of a star child. Our experienced design team can process 99.9% of all star child prints so that they can be engraved.
If you are unsure about the quality, please send us a photo of the print by email for a non-binding review. We ask for your understanding that for a higher time expenditure for the reconstruction of a print, a surcharge of €9.99 will be charged.
