Our production and ordering process

1. Choose & order your personal piece of jewelry

From fingerprint necklaces to unique keepsakes for little angel babies, we have a wide selection of designs to suit everyone. Simply choose your favorite piece of jewelry and personalize it with our configurator. You can conveniently pay online using our payment provider.

2. Start of internal production

Using special laser technology and software programs, the individual engravings are carried out in detail as you uploaded them in the configurator, polished after completion and packaged in a jewelry box upon request.

3. Ready for dispatch

Once your piece of jewelry is packaged, it will be shipped securely and padded via a well-known and reliable shipping service provider.
Should any customs fees be incurred due to the use of different shipping providers, please contact us.

Can I take impressions without a special impression kit?

  • Very simple and straightforward: we prefer using a stamp pad on white paper, as it is clearly visible and therefore easiest to work with.
  • To achieve a perfect result, the lines should be as fine as possible and clearly visible.
  • If the impression is smeared, too dark, or the lines are faintly recognizable, our experienced design team can still salvage a lot from the impression; ideally, we also have several impressions to choose from.

 

How do I proceed when taking the impression?

  • To do this, press your finger lightly onto the stamp pad and then lightly onto a white sheet of paper.

  • Repeat this process several times, also with the other fingers, so that you have a selection of fingerprints. We will then select the best print for the laser template.
  • If you do not have an ink pad available, you can also upload another print digitally.

Can plasticine or wax molds be used?

  • Our experienced design team is very confident and assures you that we can create a template from pretty much any impression and use it for engraving.
  • If you are still unsure about the quality of the impressions, feel free to contact us before placing an order for a free, no-obligation inspection of the impression.

How long will it take for my piece of jewelry to arrive?

The processing and delivery time is 7-14 days, depending on the shipping provider.

What quality must the impression have?

Your impression doesn't need to be perfect; our experienced design team can create an engraving template from almost any impression. Please understand that if the reconstruction of an impression requires more time, an additional charge of €9,99 will apply.

We will gladly check your impression before you complete an order, without obligation and free of charge.

 

Do I need to send you my original impression?

No. You never need to send us original prints. We only need a photo of the print. This can even be a photo taken with your mobile phone; it just needs to be well-lit so that the lines are clearly visible. A scan of your print is not necessary. All common photo formats, .jpg, etc., are suitable.

 

Will the fingerprints be stored with you?

All processed impressions are stored under your order number in our secure archive. This allows you to easily reorder jewelry at any time. Finished jewelry pieces are photographed for quality control before shipping, and these images may be used anonymously for advertising purposes.

 

How can I reorder additional items with the same print?

I'm unsure which item I want; can I have a personal consultation?

Personal customer contact is our top priority at Zeichen der Erinnerung. We are always available to answer your questions and are happy to provide detailed advice via email, including an engraving preview so you can better visualize the final piece of jewelry.

 

Do you also ship your jewelry outside of Germany?

Yes. We ship:

  • Europe-wide
  • Shipping to islands within the EU is available for an additional charge.
  • Switzerland on request
  • Other continents upon request.

Should any customs duties or separate handling fees from the shipping provider apply, please contact us.

 

What alloys are used in your jewelry?

All chains and pendants are made of 925 sterling silver, unless explicitly stated otherwise in the text or product details. These can be plated with 18kt or 24kt gold in yellow gold, rose gold, or rhodium upon request.

It is also possible to order individual pieces of jewelry in 24kt real gold in the online shop.

The fasteners are usually made of stainless steel.

 

Are the prints simply printed on, or are they deeply engraved?

Each individual imprint is engraved 0,03mm into the surface of the pendants, making it tactile. The imprints are NOT printed on, so edges and shapes of the imprint are visible depending on the light.

 

I have a specific pendant request; do you also make custom pendants?

We love custom-made products and always try to fulfill all of our customers' wishes.
In our menu you will find a category “Personalized with engraving” where you can find jewelry that you can customize to your liking.

 

How do I care for my piece of jewelry?

Care for your piece of jewelry carefully, taking into account our care instructions, which you can find on the corresponding product page.

I only have a footprint of my stillborn child from the hospital, will that be okay?

Often, this is the only impression taken of a stillborn child. Our experienced design team can modify 99.9% of all stillborn child impressions so they can be engraved.
If you are unsure about the quality, please send us a photo of the impression via email for a free, no-obligation review. Please understand that if the reconstruction of an impression requires more time, an additional charge of €9,99 will be applied.
